The Eagles Soccer Club under19 team (Camarillo, California) has begun its quest for a third national title by winning their third straight Cal South state championship, and their fourth in six years. Helmed from the outset by head coach Vince Thomas and assistant coach Mikey Alexander, the Eagles advance to the Far West Regionals, to be held June 15-21 in Lancaster, California, where they will take on the state champions of the other eleven western states.

By Ventura County Star Thursday, June 11, 2009 The Eagles Soccer Club under-19 team is seeking to become only the third girls’ team in the 75-year history of United States Youth Soccer championships to be crowned national champion three times. No girls’ team ever has won more than three titles. Of the quarter-million girls’ teams that have competed in the United States Youth Soccer National Championship Series, which dates back to 1935, only the Northern California Central Valley Mercury team in 1996-98 and Colorado Rush in 1999-2001 have been crowned champion more than twice. The Eagles won in 2004 and 2007. |

May 29, 2009 - Eagles BU15, by virtue of the FWRL Wild Card, will participate in this year’s 2009 US Youth Soccer Far West Regional Championships in Lancaster. Being placed against Arsenal FC (CSL Gold Champions), Sereno (AZ State Champions), and New Mexico Rush White (NM State Champions) in group D, the team definitely has its work cut out. However, the team is up for the challenge and hopes to represent, not only Cal South but the Eagles Soccer Club proudly. |

The Eagles made history this weekend as the Vince Thomas/Mikey Alexander coached U19’s defeated Slammers and So Cal Blues to advance to the Cal South National Cup final for an unprecedented sixth straight year. They will meet Wolfpack for the title next Saturday afternoon (1 pm) at the Ayala Soccer Complex in Chino. |
