Eagles SC Listed as Top 40 Soccer Club in America

Soccer America magazine named the top 40 boys and girls youth soccer clubs in America in September, and 11 Cal South clubs - 5 boys' teams and 6 girls' teams - were in the mix for 2009, including the Eagles Soccer Club for girls youth soccer. 

Soccer America selects the clubs on their annual "Top 40" lists based on the success of each team in national youth competitions and the national recognition for each club's players throughout the current year. The most important criteria are 1) success in the US Youth Soccer National Championships over a three-year cycle (2007-2009), 2) number of players who went on to U.S. Soccer National Team rosters and pools, and 3) number of players selected to US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program rosters.

SoccerAmerica.com wrote this about the Eagles SC girls program being ranked #19: "The California club's U-19s' bid to become only the third girls team to win three U.S. Youth Soccer national titles ended in the Region IV semifinals, where they fell to eventual national champion Colorado Rush. Alexandra Courtnall spent time this year with the U.S. U-17 national team."
