Eagles Girls U9 crowned champions at the 2011 Cerritos Memorial Challenge

The girls started off the weekend in pool play beating So Cal Infinity 10-0 and OC Premier 8-0. The final pool play game on Sunday was against Neusport SC from Las Vegas, who have dominated play this year in Nevada. Eagles finished the game with a tight 2-1 victory.

An extraordinary group of young women – representing the Eagles SC of Camarillo, California – are reuniting this summer to do what has never been done before…win a 4th age specific national soccer championship.

Under head coach Vince Thomas and assistant Michael Alexander, the Eagles won two US Youth Soccer National titles – the Under 14 crown in 2004 and the Under 17 Championship in 2007. They are a six time Cal South State Champion (2004, ‘07, ‘08, ‘09, ’10, ‘11) and a two-time State Finalist (2005, ‘06).

The newly formed Eagles BU11, coached by Luis Alcaraz Cuellar, became finalists in only its second tournament as a team at Madrid Cup. The Eagles had a successful first round winning two of three, while scoring fourteen goals. In the final, the Eagles faced Oxnard Pal of the CSL gold bracket, and fell 5-1. Coach Alcaraz Cuellar is proud of his players.
